Exclusive: Lawrence Bishnoi’s video call from jail with Pak gangster resurfaces

As the notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang claimed responsibility for the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, details of Bishnoi’s access to mobile phones and a video call between him and a Pakistani gangster from the jail have resurfaced.
In June this year, a 19-second video clip purportedly showing jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in conversation with Pakistan-based gangster Shahzad Bhatti went viral online. After his name emerged in Siddique’s killing, people on the internet pointed out the video, citing it as an example of jail authorities aiding him to continue his criminal activities.
The 31-year-old gangster doesn’t personally keep a mobile phone, but instead uses the phone of another prisoner or someone close to him. India Today had previously reported that Bishnoi was informed about the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala while behind bars.
Bishnoi has allegedly used mobile phones while incarcerated in Delhi’s Tihar Jail, as well as prisons in Punjab and Rajasthan. However, jail authorities have denied these allegations.
Last month, Kunal Chhabra, a gangster wanted in several cases, claimed that he received an extortion call from Bishnoi while the latter was still in jail.
Sources also said that Bishnoi, currently imprisoned at Sabarmati Central Jail in Ahmedabad, has been on a silent fast for the past nine days. It is believed that Bishnoi observes this silent fast whenever his gang commits a major crime.
On Sunday, an alleged member of the Bishnoi gang, through a social media post, claimed responsibility for the murder of Baba Siddique, who was shot dead outside his office in Mumbai on Saturday night. The post also mentioned the former minister’s alleged link to Bollywood star Salman Khan.
The message read, “Salman Khan, we did not want this war, but you caused our brother’s death. We have no enmity with anyone, but whoever helps Salman Khan or the Dawood gang, their accounts will be settled.”
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has been targeting Salman Khan since he hunted two blackbucks in 1998, an animal worshipped by the Bishnoi community. In April this year, alleged members of the same gang opened fire at the Bollywood star’s house in Mumbai. One of the shooters involved later died under suspicious circumstances at a Mumbai police station, which angered the Bishnoi gang.
Sunday’s social media post stated, “If anyone gets any of our brothers killed, we will definitely retaliate. We never attack first”.
However, the police have not confirmed the authenticity of the social media post, though they have confirmed it was a contract killing incident. Two shooters have been arrested, while a third person is on the run.
While Bishnoi remains in jail, three wanted gangsters–his brother Anmol Bishnoi, Goldy Brar and Rohit Godar– are running the gang from the United States.
