20 Ounces of Stearic Acid For Candle Making

You will receive two 10 ounce packages for a total of 20 ounces of Stearic Acid in granulated form.
Wax Additive – 150 degree F melt point. (White Granules)
Stearic acid is a fatty acid that is derived from tallow or vegetable oil. Stearic is a very effective wax modifier that has been used in candle making for well over 150 years. Also referred to as stearine. Its purpose is to help make your candle stronger and harder.
Usage varies depending on the type of wax you are using. When I was making votive candles using 133 degree melt-point paraffin blend wax, I added between 2 and 3 tablespoons per pound of wax. About an ounce and one half which equates to about 10%. That’s all that you need to get some added durability in your candles! However, you may want to do a few small test batches with the type wax you are using to be sure it works for you.
