CHINESE FAMILLE NOIRE PORCELAIN VASE BLACK FIGURES FLOWERS SYMBOLS

Description

This is an attractive older Chinese
Famille noire Porcelain Vase
which stands 18 3/16” tall. Circumference measured at the tip of the panels measure approximately 25 ¾”. (measurement of the longest distance around the vase)
It is decorated with two beautifully decorated panels. Both appear to be outdoor scenes of game play; one scene having young woman and children of the court and the other with young woman
of the Court on a Pavilion.
Possibly Scholars.
The space between the panels has incised
decorations
filled with flowers, Chinese Daoist symbols, scholarly objects, plants, and fruits. Top and bottom are also incised with repetitive
traditional scrolling designs.
The colors are bright and include black, cinnabar, off - white, and
white with shades of blue, green, mauve, orange,
peach, pink, and yellow.
Condition as follows:
Some crazing.
Paint drips, loss, smears, and ware.
Some areas of dullness.
Some surface scratches and rubs.
Old dirt/dust.
