Description

Maitland Smith porcelain hand painted chinoiserie brass lidded vase. The bottom is signed "hand painted by Maitland Smith" and numbered "206." It also has the original gold "Maitland Smith Hand Made In Philippines" sticker, and a more common oval "made in Philippines" import sticker.  And there is also a rectangular a rectangular sticker with a handwritten number that looks like a stock number or catalog number from a is from a gallery.
There are 2 small (1/4") chips along the bottom edge of the base, see photos. There are also 2 very tiny (1/32") shallow "flea bite" (I'm not a fan of that term, but it is accurate in this instance) on the sides, see photos. And there are a few very light scuffs also on the sides. The top rim has some spots of wear to the paint. And the bottom rim has shelf-wear on it. No cracks or other damage.
It is 16 7/8" tall, to the top of the finial on lid. The bottom is 6" wide, the top is 1 3/4" across, and it is 8" wide at the widest point in the middle.
It quite heavy piece of porcelain as one might expect in a piece by Maitland Smith from this time period.
