Water heater 40 gallons - State Select - used - Read description

This listing is for a 40 gallon water heater tank. We changed this working water heater when we moved to this building a few years back for another of greater capacity and this 40 gallon water heater tank has been stored in the basement ever since "just in case" it was needed again.
Since I have put old appliances like old washers and driers here on eBay before and people often buy them for pieces or for the metal, I'm giving this tank a try.
This item is sold "as is". I have not reason to think that it won't work, but I won't make any claims on this sale since I have no way of testing it before putting it for sale. It was working perfectly before we replaced it for one with more capacity, but I was not responsible for removing/replacing it, so I can NOT guarantee it's performance or operation. I can't remember how old it was or for how long it had been operating. It is probably ideal for parts or to resell the metal, but, although I have no reason to believe it would not work, I can't guarantee performance or operation.
This item is stored in my basement and picking it up is part of the deal. There's only 5 steps but I can't carry or lift it on my own, so I want to make clear that removing it from where it is stored is part of the arrangement. I won't ship this item and I might not be able to help carrying it to your vehicle. Removal is of course at your best convenience. I won't ship this item, but I can work with any third parties that pick it up on your behalf.
