Here we have an amazing super high-quality substitute for a Custom Shop stratocaster, the very unique Yamaha Sa7000; their top-of-the-line strat-type guitar from back-in-the-day.
During the late 70s-early 80s, Japanese guitar manufacturing quality was widely considered to have surpassed American craftsmanship, and companies like Greco, Burny and Yamaha produced both their own uniquely cool designs as well as the early reissue-type instruments that Fender and Gibson embrace so fully today. This guitar is a great example-its got a stratty style and scale, but a little different/better-its got a 3-piece neck-thru-body design and a very comfortable, slightly thinner body. The pickups sound amazing and can cover strat tones, but also have their own beautiful voice (check out Youtube for examples). Ebony fretboard rocks-this is a great combination of features that remains unavailable at any price from Fender!
Its in great shape-couple little scuffs on the top rear of the headstock-maybe was hanging against a wall? Finish looks good-there are a few tiny dimples and scratch marks, but its hard to see them in the photos. Slight dent on side of fretboard, but pretty clean for a 40 yo guitar. Great versatile guitar- this is not your father's Pacifica. All original. Aftermarket steam punk whammy bar. Will ship in a HSC.
